Barren plains, sand hills, mirages, cacti, scorpions, and snakes are hardly appetizing sights for most humans. It was the same for me for many years despite living just miles away from these exotic landscapes. It took a while for me to brave the prospect of encountering a stray rattlesnake or wild coyote to photograph these areas so these are some my newest additions to the collection. All I can say after photographing these landscapes is never take anything for granted and there is always a picture to be taken.
